Study Permit

If you wish to study in Canada, you may need a study permit.

To qualify, you must prove that you:

have been accepted to a Canadian school

have sufficient funds to pay for your tuition and living costs while you study

will return to your home country after you finish your studies.

You are eligible to work off campus if:

you’re a full-time student at a designated learning institution (DLI)

your study program is at least 6 months long and leads to a degree, diploma or certificate

you’ve started studying

you have a Social Insurance Number (SIN)
